Sciascia e Bufalino
The Leonardo Sciascia Institute was inaugurated as an autonomous Commercial Technical High School on August 8 1985 with a Presidential Decree, after many years of being a “branch” of other schools in the Erice area.
Since the 1985/1986 academic year, all the headmasters who have directed the school over time have worked in order to ensure the wellbeing of the Sciascia Institute and its students, promoting its presence in the territory through activities and events.

Thanks to this proactive approach, the Institute will soon become a "Laboratory" for training and methodological improvement programs aimed at teachers, according to the IGEA and MERCURIO Experimental Programs guidelines.
In addition, thanks to the excellent management skills of a group of teachers, the Sciascia Institute takes part in a PON Project (a series of programs financed by the Italian Ministry of Education in order to promote the development and growth of certain skills for students) which have allowed the school to set up a series of laboratories, including a gym equipped with the most modern technologies, for curricular and extracurricular activities.
