The Scorace Woods is a vast wooded area of about 750 hectares that covers the slopes of Monte Abbatello, a hill in the countryside between Calatafimi-Segesta and Buseto Palizzolo.
The woods can be fully explored. The rural landscape of the hilly hinterland opens to the eyes, characterized by expanses of fields rich in olive trees and vineyards. Along the north ridge of the Scorace Woods it is possible to find two ancient drinking troughs that testify to the bond of the inhabitants of the area with agricultural and pastoral activity.
The flora of the Scorace Woods is represented by corks, cypresses, holm oaks, pines and oaks that alternate with agaves, gorse bushes, aromatic herbs, blueberries and blackberries.
The forest also offers the ideal habitat for some species of small mammals that have built their lair there: the hare, the robin, the porcupine and the rabbit. It is not uncommon to see numerous species of birds.
The wood area is equipped with wooden tables and benches, barbecue, children's playground and services, to allow hikers to enjoy the surrounding environment in absolute relaxation.
