FIAB - Italian Environment and Bicycle Federation
FIAB is an environmental organization whose purpose is to promote and incentivize the diffusion of bicycles as ecological means of transport for both urban and extra-urban areas.
The Federation brings together over 130 local autonomous associations scattered throughout Italy that carry out their tasks by lobbying the public authorities to obtain interventions and measures in favor of the safe circulation of bicycles and, more generally, to improve urban livability by organizing cyclist events and presenting proposals and projects.
The work of the Federation can be summarized by the mottos "More and better cycling" and "Cycling for the Environment".

Among the initiatives organized by FIAB there are also numerous cycle-excursion activities and the publication of guides and routes for the creation of cycle-itineraries. Since 15 November 2011, FIAB has officially become the National Coordination Center for the Development of the European “EuroVelo” Cycle Network in Italy. Moreover, FIAB adheres to the European Cyclists' Federation and the Confederation of Sweet Mobility Co.Mo.Do.
Since 1998, FIAB has taken the form of a non-profit organization committed to providing services for citizens. Being a non/profit means that the Federation can be supported by citizens through voluntary donations. In addition, FIAB has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of the Environment as an environmental protection association (Article 13 of Law 349/86) and by the Italian Ministry of Public Works among the bodies and associations with proven experience in the field of road prevention and safety.
